Pekan, 11 March 2024 – Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Isuzu) today launched the ISUZU Smoother Drive 2024 program, a nation-wide truck roadshow and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative which will run from 11 to 29 March covering a total of 26 locations in Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
The objectives of the ISUZU Smoother Drive 2024, organized in conjunction with the season of Ramadhan, are for Isuzu Malaysia & its dealers to give back to the many deserving charitable homes for underprivileged children, disabled and old folks across the country. At the same time, it also aims to showcase the reliability and efficiency of the recently-launched medium-duty FVR Smoother and light-duty ELF Smoother trucks travelling on different terrain and over long-distance across Malaysia to deliver donated items from each participating dealership and their customers to the beneficiary homes.
This 19-day long program kicked-off today with an official launch ceremony held at Isuzu Hicom Malaysia (IHM) assembly plant in Pekan, Kuantan and was attended by senior management teams of Isuzu Malaysia and Isuzu Hicom Malaysia. During the launch, six trucks comprising two medium-duty FVR Smoother and four light-duty ELF Smoother AMT were flagged-off for their journey across the country and helping to realize the objectives of the ISUZU Smoother Drive 2024 program.
Once the trucks have arrived at each of the participating dealership, all donated items that have been collected will be uploaded and delivered to the chosen beneficiary homes. In order to make this a huge success, customers and members of the public are invited to participate by donating daily necessity items for household, non-perishable food and beverages, as well as clothing in good condition by bringing them to their nearest participating dealership.
Following delivery of the items, an evening event featuring trucks display and buka puasa dinner will also be held at each of the participating dealership, in which customers and members of the public are cordially invited to attend.
Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia, Shunsuke Okazoe, said “Isuzu started the first quarter of the year on upbeat notes, having been confirmed as the top selling truck brand for the 10th year and top light-duty truck brand for the 14th year straight. We had also launched our new medium-duty FVR Smoother and light-duty ELF Smoother trucks in Malaysia.

The six trucks that were flagged-off from Pekan were divided into two teams. The first team of three trucks were deployed to nine Isuzu dealerships in the east coast and northern parts of Peninsular Malaysia. The trucks will stop at Dynamic Motor Sdn Bhd in Kuantan on 13 March, Yeow Lee Commercial Sdn Bhd in Kuala Terengganu on 14 March, T.E.C United Auto Sdn Bhd in Kota Bharu on 15 March, Indah Utara Auto Sdn Bhd in Sungai Petani on 17 March, Automotive Corporation Sdn Bhd in Juru on 18 March, Weng Fatt Otomobile in Ipoh on 19 March, GB Motors Sdn Bhd in Sitiawan on 20 March, and VS Automotive Sdn Bhd in Rawang on 21 March.
The second team of another three trucks will make their way to the southern and central parts, going to Key Power Motor Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru on 13 March, Jumbo Arena Sdn Bhd in Kluang on 14 March, Ng Hup Lee Motors Sdn Bhd in Melaka on 15 March, Ultra Gallant Sdn Bhd in Seremban on 16 March, Pacific Motor Sdn Bhd in Raub in 17 March, Autoexec Corporation Sdn Bhd in Jinjang on 18 March, PTM Accel Sdn Bhd in Selayang on 19 March, Automotive Corporation Sdn Bhd in Batu Caves on 20 March, Truck Venture Sdn Bhd in Petaling Jaya on 21 March and SV Prestige Auto Sdn Bhd in Puchong on 22 March, before making their last roadshow stop for the finale event at Isuzu Service Center in Shah Alam on 29 March.
Meanwhile, for East Malaysia five ELF Smoother AMT trucks will be deployed, in which in Sabah two units will be going to Universal Motor Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu on 23 March and in Sandakan on 25 March and WMM Ventures Sdn Bhd in Tawau on 27 March. The other three ELF trucks will make their way around Sarawak to Rhino Motors Sdn Bhd in Kuching on 21 March, Dai Max Automobile in Sibu on 23 March, KM Mobile Sdn Bhd in Bintulu on 25 March and in Miri on 27 March.
